Mars Meeting: A Lollapalooza Short Story

And here comes the (to date) last story in the Lollapalooza series.

Mars MeetingCaptain Kovak has a new crew, an empty cargo hold, and a second-in-command who is keeping secrets from her.

Secrets that put all of them at risk.

Some questioning is in order, in a setting that is not romantic, during what is not a date.

Coiled Danger: A Lollapalooza Short Story

I wrote this story some time ago, not long after the first two stories in the Lollapalooza series. I’m not sure why, but I never got around to publishing this one – and the fourth one coming next week.

But they’re out now, ready for consumption!

Coiled Danger

Coiled Danger

Intergalactic travel can be fatal if attempted with a faulty communications system. This is why all systems are doubled.

Anouk, the Lollapalooza’s new mechanic, is faced with glitches in the Secondary, while the Prime is already out of commission.

The origin of the craft-wide problem must be found before all the systems fail.

Common Enemies: A Lollapalooza Short Story

Common Enemies

Another short story that I published without any sort of fanfare. We’re back with the Lollapalooza and their search for a crew…

Common Enemies

Common Enemies

Yosu Gaal is very reluctantly in charge of recruiting a new crew for the Lollapalooza.

One of the new hires, a pink-haired mechanic named Anouk Roux, turns out to have an even more interesting history than her resumé implies.

A history that Yosu knows all too well.

Quarantine: A Lollapalooza Short Story

Another Science Fiction story! Like The Vanguard, it’s a little weird, but not as weird…

For inspiration for this story, I sat down with my Thesaurus and picked out two random words. I got lollapalooza (which was really fun but impossible to place) and quarantine (which apparently got my writing juices running).

Let me know what you think!

QuarantineQuarantine

The majority of her crew having perished in a flu outbreak, Captain Kovak is in desperate need of a friendly port.

She finds a planet on the map with the tags fuel and crew for hire, figuring she’s home safe.

Until she ends up quarantined.

Happy New Year and A New Story!

The Vanguard

I know, I haven’t posted in over a year. But I’m still here, and still writing, I just didn’t have anything ready to publish.

2018 has been the year of short stories for me. I’ve finished a whole bunch of them, and you’ll be seeing them popping up over the next few months.

The very first one, a weird Science Fiction story with cats (of all things), is coming out tomorrow! It’s called The Vanguard and was written for an assignment in a writing class I took. It had to have aliens and it had to have pets – so, yes, this story has alien felines… I promise, it’s a great story, though!

Here’s the cover and the blurb. Let me know what you think.

The Vanguard

Minou’s latest kill, a wonderfully delightful mouse, has gone missing.

The mouse-thief isn’t the cat next door, but someone far more unexpected—and dangerous.

Apparently, Minou had a job to do.
